Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 27, 2026

NibbleMaps is a personal food passport for remembering restaurants and food spots. This policy describes the app, the public website, and the data needed for stamps, saved places, Friends, subscriptions, sign-in, and sync.

The current App Store privacy label lists contact information linked to identity for app functionality, and location and user content used for app functionality but not linked to identity. Apple notes that app privacy details are provided by the developer and are not independently verified by Apple.

What We Collect Location and Photos Storage and Sync Third Parties Controls Contact

1. What We Collect

NibbleMaps collects the information needed to operate the app and the public website:

  • Account details such as your sign-in method, email address when used for email-link sign-in, Apple sign-in identifier, display name, username, profile photo, and account preferences.
  • Stamp details you create, including place name, address, latitude and longitude, category, cuisine type, visit date, creation date, rating, notes, and photos you attach.
  • Saved place details, including place name, address, coordinates, category, cuisine, notes, saved date, and available place metadata such as phone number or website.
  • Friends information needed for friend requests, accepted friends, usernames, display names, sharing status, and shared food-map views.
  • Subscription and entitlement status used to unlock Pro features through Apple's App Store purchase system.
  • Routine website request and performance information processed by the website host and measurement tools.

2. Location and Photos

NibbleMaps uses location while you are using the app so restaurants and saved places can appear on your map. The app does not request always-on background location access.

Photos are added only when you choose an image or take a photo for a stamp or profile. NibbleMaps does not need access to your full photo library to add selected photos.

3. Storage, Sync, and Friends

Your NibbleMaps data may be stored locally on your device and synced through Apple's iCloud and CloudKit services. Personal stamps and saved places are stored in private CloudKit records. Friend sharing uses Apple CloudKit sharing so accepted friends can view the stamp and map information made available through the app.

NibbleMaps also uses limited public CloudKit records for features such as username lookup, public profile discovery needed for friend requests, and invite flows. These records support app functionality and are not used for advertising or data brokerage.

4. Third-Party Services

NibbleMaps relies on third-party platforms to provide core app and website functionality:

  • Apple services, including iCloud, CloudKit, Sign in with Apple, StoreKit, the App Store, MapKit, Core Location, and Photos access controls.
  • Firebase Authentication for email-link sign-in.
  • Vercel for public website hosting and website performance measurement.

Based on the current app source reviewed for this policy pass, NibbleMaps does not include ad SDKs, tracking SDKs, data-broker integrations, or third-party crash analytics SDKs.

5. How We Use Information

We use information to provide the app, authenticate accounts, save and sync your food passport, display your map and Friends views, process Pro entitlement status, maintain security, respond to support requests, and understand public website performance.

We do not sell, rent, or share personal stamp data with advertisers or data brokers.

6. Your Choices and Controls

  • You can edit or delete stamps and saved places in the app.
  • You can manage friend relationships and decide what food-map information is available through Friends features.
  • You can export supported app data from Settings.
  • You can manage Apple ID, iCloud, location, photo, and subscription settings through Apple device settings.
  • You can request help with account or deletion questions by contacting support.

7. Children's Privacy

NibbleMaps is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will address the request.

8. Security

NibbleMaps uses platform security controls provided by Apple, Firebase, and Vercel, along with website security headers on nibblemaps.com. No method of storage or transmission is perfect, so please contact us if you believe something is wrong.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as NibbleMaps evolves. Changes are effective when posted on this page.
